The more fluid your body is, the more flexible and stable you are.
Why GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® ?
GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® is a holistic exercise method developed by Juliu Horvath, a Hungarian dancer, in the 1980s to aid his recovery from dance injuries. It includes GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® exercises.
Both GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods differ from traditional exercise programs and machines by utilizing a unique three-dimensional circular motion that creates synchronized and efficient movement throughout the body. By doing so, they promote a sense of harmony and equilibrium in the musculoskeletal framework, also open energy channels and rejuvenate the neurological system, promoting activity, endurance, and locomotor efficiency.
The GYROTONIC® method uses a tower with adjustable weights attached to straps, which are tethered to a wheeled mobile weight bench. The moving wheels allow individuals to complete a series of arches and curls that gently flex and expand the spine while stretching the chest and shoulders. The weight-and-pulley circuit provides adequate resistance, while the straps support the motion of the legs, arms, and hands.
GYROKINESIS® method was formulated by its Creator Juliu Horvath before he developed GYROTONIC® method. GYROKINESIS® method utilizes a stool and mat to facilitate fluid, circular movements that involve the entire body. Without the feedback and guidance of the equipment (pullley tower), participants in a GYROKINESIS® class are more dependent on their own proprioception to explore movement sequences.
GYROKINESIS® classes are designed to be inclusive and adaptable, making them suitable for individuals of any age or fitness level. The approach can be customized to meet the needs of each participant, with modifications available for those who require a slower and gentler approach, as well as variations for high-level movers seeking an intense and challenging workout.
